Maintenance Planner / Scheduler - Heavy Equipment

Job Description


The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler - Heavy Equipment is responsible for responding to work requests submitted from the field, shop, or electronically generated by the computerized maintenance management system.

REPORTS TO:
Equipment Repair Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Note: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:

  • Must provide optimized maintenance plans for predictive, preventive, routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance services.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to assure equipment availability, required parts are in stock, or have been ordered, and schedule repairs based on these factors.
  • Work with shop lead to make sure all techs know when parts will arrive.
  • Evaluate and schedule maintenance work utilizing CMMS software.
  • Identify Gaps and the effectiveness of work order and work order completion rate, reduction in back log, and a set of prioritized work orders with (improved) methods and procedures in place.
  • Communicate Goals, KPI’s, and/or any other related information to management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Proactive maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
  • Understanding of job planning, inventory control and basic financial concepts, such as estimating and budgeting.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, such as Excel.
  • 1-3 years of equipment maintenance experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. Also may require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds.
