This project for the Charlotte County Airport Authority required the removal and replacement of Taxiway A. During the course of this six-month project, Ajax Paving laid a new, longer taxiway that exceeded requirements for pavement placement, density, and lab testing. Equally important, all tie-in construction was performed at night to ensure continued air service on the facility’s other runways.
The Punta Gorda Airport project won a Quality in Construction Award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association and the Special Project Award from the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida.
If you’ve flown ‘in or out’ of Michigan or Florida, there’s a solid chance you’ve experienced our work firsthand. The same goes for many of the roads and highways in the midwest. Even if you don’t think you’ve driven on our work, there’s a good possibility the safety, drivability, and performance of your vehicle was tested on one of the many test tracks we developed for Ford, GM, and other manufacturers. Even NASCAR® trusts our quality results for their high-spec precision tracks. When we say ‘The Future is Riding on Ajax’... we mean it. Since 1981, we’ve had our hands in some of the most demanding and challenging paving jobs in Florida. We’re proud of the work we do and continue to operate guided by the same principles set in place by our founder Herb Jacob: Quality, Safety, and Productivity.
