Ajax Paving: Staying Safe During COVID-19

Asphalt paving heavy equipment drives over a stretch of asphalt road being paved. The world has changed a great deal in the last three months in response to COVID-19. Families across the world have had to adapt to preventative steps to keep safe and stay healthy during the shelter in place orders or guidelines. Michigan and Florida both have temporary orders from their governors to “Shelter-in-Place” while practicing social distancing.

Businesses have also been impacted by the order causing some to shut their doors, some to change their services, and others deemed as essential companies will continue to work. We are here to help.

Ajax Paving: Essential Work

Fortunately for your organization and our workers, Ajax Paving is an essential company. We provide "critical infrastructure workers" who labor on the infrastructure projects that we take. We are thus exempted from the prohibitions of the executive order. We are here to continue supporting our customers and our various partners during this critical period. New Safety Measures at Ajax Paving

Here at Ajax Paving, the health and safety of our employees are crucial for us. We wouldn't be able to do the work we do daily without our dedicated crews. In light of COVID-19 and the orders from local, state, and national governments, we have taken steps to protect the public and our team members. According to our new policies, we will:

  • Send home any employee with respiratory illnesses
  • Prevent workers from entering the premises if they display respiratory symptoms or have had contact with a person who is known or suspected to have COVID-19
  • Routinely disinfect surfaces
  • Restrict the number of workers present on-premises to no more than is strictly necessary to perform Ajax’s critical infrastructure functions
  • Adopt protocols to clean and disinfect in the event of a positive COVID-19 case inn the workplace
  • Take steps to make it easy for workers to frequently wash their hands
