Grader Operator / Foreman – Tampa Area

Job Description


The Grader Operator/Foreman requires knowledge of all grade operations and equipment with specific emphasis on operating a motor grader. He is responsible for the supervision of a grade crew, maintain daily quantity log and order materials.

EDUCATION
Preferred: High School Graduate and minimum of five years’ experience managing grading operation. 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Hands on motivated leader for crew.
  • Demonstrate an ability to organize, control and manage all areas of the grading operation.
  • Knowledge of materials, equipment, methods and techniques used in road construction.
  • Knowledge of possible defects and faults in work and of stages where such faults and defects are most readily ascertained.
  • Ability to understand and interpret terms and specifications of contracts.
  • Ability to conduct effective paving inspections for compliance.
  • Ability to calculate figures and mathematical concepts.
  • Understanding of DOT and site projects.
  • Understand work orders and recognize discrepancies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Insure safe working conditions for crew.
  • Properly maintain equipment.
  • Insure effective communication between employees and supervisors.
  • Perform tasks properly and in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Maintain records as required for grading operation.
