We are very excited to present to you our premier issue of Pavement Digest.
One of the most interesting qualities of the paving business is the dynamic nature of
our industry and the many interesting people who are drawn to this business. Things
are always changing and those who are best prepared to survive and thrive in that
environment are destined to grow and prosper.
Why is our industry so dynamic and ever changing? Well for those of us who “feed at
the public trough” and perform public work, the demands by governmental agencies are
constant. Working in an environment where we find more demanding specifications by
our public agencies, along with increased use of warranties and where public funding
continues to be threatened, makes for some interesting and often challenging times.
